DOT Physical Examination
The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) requires truck, van, bus, or other commercial vehicle drivers to have a physical exam every two years to remain compliant, although some employers require their employees to be examined more frequently to adhere to individual policies. We provide convenient DOT-compliant physical examinations to help you meet DOT reqiurements-and keep your employees on the road.
Information for Employees
Here's what to expect during your DOT Physical:
We will check your height, weight, blood pressure, vision and hearing.
Your doctor will conduct a thorough physical examination to determine your physical ability to drive.
You will be asked to give us a urine specimen.
If you are on medication for chronic disease such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or heart disease, or you have a new diagnosis, such as sleep apnea, you may need to bring a note from your regular family doctor stating that your condition is stable, that you are being evaluated on a regular basis, and that you are considered medically capable of driving a commercial vehicle.
Things to Remember:
If you wear eyeglasses, please bring them with you.
You will need to bring a note from your doctor if you take medication for a chronic disease. Please bring the names of your medicines, or the bottles, with you to the examination.
Your paperwork and license will be returned to you in hand at time of visit.
